Design Concept

The concept revolves around exploring the psychological qualities of serial killers within the context of a carnival. The goal is to present a thought-provoking and potentially positive perspective on a horror story, depicting the carnival as a hematic baptism for outrageous individuals.

Carnivals are traditionally associated with joy and family-friendly experiences. However, they also attract individuals with darker intentions, including killers and murderers. Psychopaths and serial killers exhibit impulsive, egocentric, irresponsible, and antisocial behavior, often accompanied by charm or aggressiveness. These traits can be likened to the behavior of children who lack a proper understanding of societal rules and act on their repressed desires.

The fear of insanity arises from the fact that it can cause individuals to turn against themselves and others. Similarly, the fear of psychopaths stems from their ability to tap into the hidden desires within ourselves that we have been taught to condemn. They are capable of rationalizing their actions, understanding the consequences, and evading capture. Many of them hide their rage and true intentions behind a facade of civility.

While it may sound familiar to normal individuals, as we all have hidden desires and sometimes yearn for rebellion, psychopaths are the ones who dare to ignore societal rules and release their deep-seated fears and desires in extreme ways. It is important to note that these factors do not excuse the harm they inflict on others. However, they provide an interesting glimpse into the minds of these killers.

The design direction aims to delve into the psychological aspects of serial killers within the carnival setting. It seeks to present the information and explanations in a positive light, challenging our perceptions of horror stories. The carnival may appear as a gory and terrifying realm, but it can also serve as a transformative experience, like a baptism, for those who dare to embrace their outrageous nature.
